toutine: Christine van Doesburgh has from an early age had an active interest in decorative art and craft. Since 1995 she has made increasing use of digital techniques in her work, though preserving the look and feel of handwork.
Her strongly decorative visual language is much inspired by motifs from nature and from east asian art.
In her work Christine creates an atmosphere that can best be described as poetic, sometimes fairytale-like, but often slightly disconcerting. She deliberately creates playful visual dissonances.
Christine van Doesburgh has worked on projects varying from corporate film to visuals for rock concerts, she has created graphics for single screen and complex multiple screen installations. In many of these projects Christine has been both director and motion designer. In her work she applies both 2D and 3D animation, as well as compositing techniques
Apart from these projects Christine does illustration work and makes short films and animations.
